with my tools, my skills and my heart. I am an educator to some, a student to this beautiful world and I am here to share with you everything I have to share, through community and exploration. When I started photography, my goal was simple: I wanted to be creative. I wanted to tell stories, show relationship and have some sort of purpose while doing those things. The world is filled with fascinating stories looking to be told. Still, today, almost two decades later my goal has remained the same. I still want to tell stories, but now I can do it with a trained eye, techniques that have been honed in, experience that’s real. I want to share people and places and adventure with others.

In 2004 I created Turner Photography Studio and have been thriving as a studio owner ever since. My bread and butter is commercial photography with clients including Rocky Gap Casino, Mount Saint Mary’s University, Hagerstown Community College, Frederick Magazine, Hagerstown Magazine and numerous other publications. I have taught photography for only a short time, but in that period I have learned what it means to share knowledge with others that is valuable, to help the students reach for goals they thought were once unobtainable and to do my best to provide everyone with something they can build on. I have been a PPA member for over 20 years where I have earned my Photographic Craftsman Degree (Cr. Photog.), my Certified Professional Photographers Degree (CPP) and I am currently working toward my Master Photographer Degree. I have taught and instructed affiliat PPA classes in several state chapters teaching both studio and location portraiture, studio lighting, off camera lighting, fashion lighting, environmental portraiture and most recently character portraiture. I have been awarded My home state’s Wedding Photographer of the year, Portrait Photographer of the year and All Around Photographer of the year by Maryland’s Professional Photographer Association (MDPPA). I have also been awarded through American Advertising Federation of Greater Frederick (AAFGF) 3 silver medal awards for commercial photography, but enough about me.....

jumped into a professional career via school portraits and managing studios for Clay Blackmore, Melanie Anderson and Turner Photography. I’ve been told I have an embedded compass and “never gets lost” even in the most remote places. I have a slight obsession with traveling and even more so the planning of trips. I want to make sure I experience the true culture of each place I visit even to the point of staying on a stranger’s couch to stay away from the loneliness and expense of hotels (ask me about it!). I’m ready to plan every ounce of your adventure and be your chauffeur!
